How many tarantula species are there?
As of 3 October 2026, the World Spider Catalog accepts 1,209 tarantula species in 192 genera, all within the family Theraphosidae.1 That is too many for one photo grid to sort by eye, so the collection below is also split by subfamily, and individual species pages state how far each identification goes.
